This season offers some changes in competitive levels for our 10U - High School players. To improve the competitive experience for our players, ABBSBA has decided to participate in two different Fastpitch leagues, offering two options for competition levels.
12U and above ages
Tier 1 and Tier 2 Teams will participate in the Big West Fastpitch League. We anticipate that this will offer better competition, challenging our teams more appropriately and feel this will offer better skill development in the long run. We DO NOT anticipate that this will create more travel for our families, as there are many local towns that are part of this league.
This is a change from last year. Due to positive feedback, all (12U and above), including Tier 2 teams will play in the Big West Fastpitch.
10U
10U Teams will continue to participate in the Crow River Fastpitch League.
8U
For 8U participation, please see Annandale Community Education webpage (www.annandalece.com) for further details. Or contact the Recreation and Facilities Coordinator, Brennan Beese at bbeese@isd876.org or 320-274-3058 ext 4402.
ABBSBA will abide by the player age rules set by USA Softball. A player's age as of September 1st determines the age in which the player is eligible to play the following year. Players of younger age classification may play in the older classification (with ABBSBA approval), players may not play in the younger classification.
Thus, the 2024 season will see most players playing an additional year in a classification and not moving up.
Please see the above age chart or visit www.usasoftball.com/age-calculator to additional help.
When your player is assigned to a team, the coach will roster the player with the league they are participating in. After the coach completes this task, parents will receive an email from the league to approve their child being rostered. Please follow through with this email as this completes the rostering process. YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO PLAY IF THIS IS NOT DONE. Any questions please contact ABBSBA using info on bottom of the page.
